Managing Principal

Brian Skyers founded HD Geosolutions, Inc. in 2010, after starting his own engineering consulting firm in 2004. His expertise spans state-of-the-art ground motion analyses, deep foundation design, inert debris engineered fill operations, performance testing, and geotechnical instrumentation.

Brian began his career with the Naval Civil Engineering Laboratory in Port Hueneme in 1992 while completing his master’s degree at UCLA. He joined the firm of Law/Crandall in 1993 and was engaged in earthquake-related projects for the year following the 1994 Northridge earthquake, including building damage assessments at California State University Northridge and the repair of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. In 1996, Brian was stationed in Thailand for 3 months as the lead on-site foundation engineer for construction of the 55km Bang Na Expressway, the longest bridge in the world until 2004.

Brian has over 30 years of geotechnical engineering experience. He has led geotechnical evaluations for low- and high-rise buildings, commercial developments, hospitals, infrastructure, forensic investigations, and numerous other projects. Brian is a registered California Civil Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer.
