Engineering Geology

Geology plays a critical role for projects in the complex, seismically active region of California. We identify geologic hazards and adverse geologic conditions that can impact project safety, feasibility, and cost. We routinely evaluate issues of soil liquefaction, seismic settlement, fault rupture, soil creep and landslides, bedrock structure, etc. for geologic hazard reports, environmental impact reports, and other studies.

Our engineering geology services include:

  • Geologic mapping
  • Interpretation of aerial photographs
  • Feasibility studies
  • Subsurface evaluations
  • Slope evaluations
  • Fault studies and fault trenching
  • Groundwater studies
  • Evaluation of liquefaction, lateral spreading, and other secondary earthquake hazards
  • Rock mechanics
