Ten Thousand is a 40-story, 283-unit luxury residential tower in Century City. HD Geosolutions, Inc. provided the foundation engineering and advanced earthquake engineering services for the project.
Ten Thousand represents the first high-rise in the City of Los Angeles supported on a DeWaal® pile system. DeWaal piles are full-displacement piles installed using a closed-tip displacement element with a sacrificial tip advanced by means of auger drilling methods. HD Geosolutions, Inc. developed and executed a foundation performance testing program that saved the project about $2M in foundation costs. Our peer-reviewed ground motion studies included the development of acceleration time histories.
